5 Reasons Why Nick Is the Right Person for Division 12 and to Represent You at a Council Level.

Business Experience

Nick is co-owner and creator of the Physiotherapy Practice Surf Life Physio, which has been operating in Miami for 16 years. The business is home to some of Gold Coast elite athletes boasting multiple Olympians, World Champions, National Champions and age group champions in a range of different sports, not to mention an enormous amount of local Gold Coast people.

From its humble beginnings at Nobbys, to its base now at Miami, walking distance to Marketta, it has now expanded to boast a multidisciplinary staff list and a number of Physiotherapists that work across multiple fields of expertise. Surf Life Physio is situated just off the Gold Coast Highway and has been directly affected by the construction of the Tram. So, Nick is acutely aware of the need to support our local small businesses through this major development.

Board Room Experience

Nick currently is the president of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, in Queensland, and chair of the Queensland Branch Council. He is a sitting member and inaugural member of the Griffith University Inclusive futures council, and also sits on the Queensland Rugby League Physiotherapy Group. Nick has also spent time coaching Mermaid Beach SLSC in their swimming last season and assisted with Kennedy Pacific Swimming coach when gaps have appeared.

The Albatross Nippers was created by Nick in 2014 to allow children with a disability to re-engage and be included in surf lifesaving activities within Nobbys Nippers.

This program and the Albatross Nippers Inc. has spread across the country in multiple iterations and under different names, as well as to clubs overseas.

Local Community

Nick is incredibly well-connected and embedded within our local Division 12 community. As well as all the clubs, and organisations mentioned above, Nick lives in Nobbys with his wife and young family.
